All right today, on this 2007 Lincoln MKX, we're going to do a test fit of part number TH9025 from Thule, the Apex Four-Bike Carrier. Few things to know about this bicycle carrier, that it will work inch and a quarter receiver hitches both class one and class two. However, when using it with a class one hitch, you're limited to just carrying just two bicycles. Now this will also work with a two-inch receiver hitch with the included spacer and that's what we're working with today. Now we'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, we'll make sure that the integrated hitch pin is secured into the hitch pin hole and that--we'll go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle device. Okay with the bike rack installed, we'll go ahead and get some clearance measurements.
Clearance from the anti-rattle knob to the bumper is going to be one inch. Ground clearance is going to be about 12 1/2 inches. Now we'll go ahead and fold the bike rack and check out access to the cargo area. Okay, that looks good. Now we'll go ahead and fold the top path of the rack so we can load up our bike.
Before we load up our bike, we'll make sure that the straps are out of the way on the cradles that we're going to use and that the anti-sway part of the cradle is either tilted towards the center or easily removed. When we load our bike, we'll balance it out on the cradles and then we'll reattach the anti-sway part of the cradle and then strap that to a c-tube and then we can go ahead and run the other two straps over the top tube. Okay, and that's all that's required to load up a bike. With that, that'll finish it for our test fit of part number TH9025 from Thule, the Apex Four-Bike Carrier, on our 2007 Lincoln MKX.
