Today on our 2000 Lexus RX300 well be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches part #: TH9025. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with the two inch hitch well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch, lining up the hitch pinhole using the integrated hitch pin lock. Alright, with that done this is what our bike rack will look like in its stored position. Next well go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the base of the bike rack is 3 inches. With our bike rack installed in the stored position we add an additional 13 inches to the overall vehicle length.
Now, from the lowest point of our bike rack we have 14 inches of ground clearance. Next, well go ahead and use the flip switch at the base of the bike rack and tilt it away from the vehicle to gain rear cargo access. As you can see with our bike rack tilted away from the vehicle we can gain full rear cargo access. Now lets go ahead and close the cargo door, we can put our bike rack back into the upright latched position. Now we can use the flip switch at the top of the mast to extend and lock the carrying arms into the carrying position.
With them up and locked we can go ahead and undo the hold down straps to set our bike directly into position. With our bike in position well go ahead and secure it with the hold down straps. And there you have it, in just a few simple steps weve gone ahead and secured the bike rack to the vehicle and the bike to the bike rack. Now were ready to hit the road. Today on this 1999 Lexus RX300, were going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, Part # TH934XTR. To mount our bike carrier to our vehicle, the first thing we need to do is remove the adapter sleeve which we have already done. Well take the shank of the bike rack and insert it into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes then well start to tread in our anti rattle bolt and we'll tighten it down with a 3/4 inch wrench. Once we've done that, we're going to check for rear vehicle access. Well remove the pin at the base of the rack and tilt it down.

With our anti-rattle bolt tightened down you can see it really takes out any movement between the bike rack and the vehicles. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with a two inch hitch we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch lining up the hitch pin hole and installing the anti-rattle bolt. As you can see with the anti-rattle bolt tightened down it really takes out any movement between the bike rack and the vehicle. Next were going to give you a few measurements. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the bike rack platform it is 3 inches. With the bike rack installed in the stored position it adds an additional 12 inches to the overall vehicle length and from the lowest point of the bike rack we have 13 and a quarter inches of ground clearance.

Today on our 200 Lexus RX300 well be test fitting the Swagman XTC 2, two bike carrier for inch and a quarter and 2 inch hitches part #: S64670. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and safety clip. With our bike rack installed this is what itll look like in its stored position. Now well go ahead and well give you a few measurements. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the platform of the bike rack is 5 and a half inches. With our bike rack installed it adds an additional 21 inches to the overall vehicle length and from the end of the bike rack we have a 17 and a 3/8 inches ground clearance.
