Review of Swagman XTC2 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack on a 2009 Ford Flex

All right today, on this 2009 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number S64670 from Swagman, the XTC2 bicycle rack. All right a few things to know about this bike rack that it will work inch and a quarter receiver hitches both class one and class two. This will also work with two-inch receiver hitches with the included spacer and that's what we'll be working with today. Now we'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then we'll tighten down the anti-rattle bolt then install the safety clip on the other side. All right now we'll go ahead and fold the bike rack and get some clearance measurements. From the bike rack to the bumper, we're looking at a clearance of six inches.

Ground clearance will be 14 inches. Now we'll go ahead and lower the center post and check access to the back of the vehicle. All right that looks good. Now we can go ahead and load up the bike. First thing we do is make sure the straps are out of the way for the wheels and that we'll make sure that those clamps on the center post are right up to the very top.

When we load up our bike, we'll go ahead and set the wheels into the wheel loops, tilt the bike out of the way a little bit so we can bring up the center post; we'll bring in the clamp down onto the top tube and then make sure the pin is secure at the bottom. Then we can go ahead and run the straps through the wheels. All right, and that's all it takes to load up a bike. All right, with that, that'll finish it for our test fit of part number S64670 from Swagman, the XTC2 bicycle rack, on our 2009 Ford Flex.
