Review of Swagman XTC2 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack on a 2007 Lincoln MKX

Okay today, on this 2007 Lincoln MKX, we're going to do a test fit of part number S64670 from Swagman; the XTC2 bicycle rack. A few key points about this bicycle rack is that it's designed for inch and a quarter receiver hitches, both class one and class two and this will also work with two-inch receiver hitches with the included spacer and that's what we'll be working with today. We'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch; we'll tighten down the anti-rattle bolt then install the safety clip on the other side. Okay, with the bike rack installed, we can go ahead and unfold it, and get some clearance measurements. Okay, from the bike rack to the bumper, it's closets point will be three and three quarter inches. Ground clearance will be 15 3/4 inches.

Now we'll go ahead and lower our center post and check the access to the back of the vehicle. All right that looks good. Now at this point, we can go ahead and load up the bike. First thing we do is make sure the straps are out of the way and the wheel loops and also make sure that the clamps on the center post are right up to the very top. Okay, to load up our bike, we'll put the wheels into the wheel loops, then bring the center post up and over the seat, you may have to tilt the bike out of the way a little bit and then we'll bring the clamp back down onto the top tube, secure the post, and then put the straps through the wheels.

Okay, and those are the few steps that you need to load up the bike. With that, that'll finish it for our test fit of part number S64670 from Swagman, the XTC2 bicycle rack on, our 2007 Lincoln MKX.
