Today on our 2006 Toyota Highlander, we'll be test fitting part number S64670. This is the Swagman XTC2 2 Bike Platform Style Bike Rack. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point, we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 17 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 6-1/2 inches.
We'll now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door. With the platform unfolded, we're almost ready to load our bike. We'll need only to make sure that the wheel loop straps are undone and out of the way and that our vertical bar clamps are fully extended. We'll place the bike into the wheel loops and bring our vertical bar up, remembering to reinstall the pin holding the bar in place. We can then bring the clamp down over the top bar of our bike.
We'll move back down to the wheel loops where we'll put the straps through and secure them on the other side. And there you have it, our bike is loaded and we're ready to head on down the road. And that completes our test fit of the Swagman XTC2 2 Bike Platform Style Bike Carrier, part number S64670 on our 2006 Toyota Highlander.
