Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country we'll be test fitting the Swagman 2-Bike Wheel Mount Bike Rack, product number S64670. With our vehicle already equipped with a 2-inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled, we're ready to fit it to the vehicle. We'll begin by sliding the bike rack into its place in the hitch, line up the pin, and install the anti-rattle bolt. We'll get that finger-tight. With the bolt finger-tight we'll go ahead and tighten it down using our 3/4-inch wrench. Once it's tight, we'll install our safety pin.
With the rack secured we're now ready to load our bike. We'll begin by folding down the two outer most arms. With our bike rack in this position we are going to go ahead and give you a couple of measurements. From the back of the bike rack to the floor is 14 inches. From the closest point of the bike rack to the bumper was 3-1/4 inches.
With the bike rack in this position we're also going to show you the ease of cargo access. We will need to fold down the vertical arm and then we can go ahead and open the cargo door. As you can see, with the bike rack in this position, we can gain full access to the rear cargo area. Also in this position, we are ready to load our bike. We will need to remove the straps off the wheel loops in order to help with ease of loading.
We're now ready to put the bike on to the wheel loops. Once the bike is on the wheel loops we'll then move the vertical bar back up into its vertical position and clamp the clamp down over the top bar. You'll need to remember before you clamp down the bike to install the lynch pin, holding the vertical bar into place. This will help to secure the rack. Now that the top clamp is in place we're ready to install the wheel loop straps.
Now that the wheel loop straps are in place our bike is secured to the rack and we're ready to go. And this completes our test fit of the Swagman 2-Bike Wheel Mount Bike Rack on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country.
