Today on this 2010 Ford F-150 we are going to install SuperSprings part number SSA5MTKT. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and get the vehicle lifted up and we have the suspension unloaded. Now we have the wheels taken off but we do not have to do that. It makes things a lot easier if you can. Alright, the first thing we need to do is go ahead and install the mount kit. You need the mounting kit for vehicles that have axles that are mounted below the spring. We will go ahead and put the mount kit over top of the spring. It just gives us a nice flat surface for the SuperSpring to ride on. We will just go ahead and center it over it. And we will our U-bolts into place. We will go ahead and install the plate that goes on the bottom of the U-bolt itself. And we will install a flat washer and nut. We will do the same thing for the U-bolt going towards the front. And now we will go ahead and snug down the U-bolts. Make sure our bracket stays in place over the spring. 0:57
Now this is our SuperSpring right here. To install it, we need to remove the bolts, one on each side, and the rollers. We are just going to take the SuperSpring and just lay it on top of the mounting kit. You will see our shackles will move around the spring itself. When you mount the spring up, you want to make sure you have about 1/4 inch to move it front to rear. And on the back you need about 1 inch of movement. So you can move the spring forward or backward as needed and also have plenty of clearance for everything else. Let us reinstall the rollers on the bottom. Now we are going to use the bottom holes here. For most applications that is fine. However, if you are going to do an additional lift, you may want to use the additional holes that are above it to attach the rollers. Then we will go to the front shackle and repeat the same process. We will go ahead and snug down the bolts now. Now we are not going to make them tight, just enough where they touch and we still have room for the rollers to move around. 1:54
Alright, now we have to attach our spring clamp to the SuperSpring itself and the bracket. And then we will go ahead and attach the bolt with the flat washer and the lock nut. Now when you position the clamp, make sure nothing gets in the way. The bump stop right here is pretty close to this bolt so you can move it up and down as needed to give you some room. It does not have to be centered with the spring. It does not have to be super tight, just enough to secure everything. We have our driver side done. Let us go over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. The last thing we need to do is go ahead and reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle. And we can see how the springs work under tension. And there you have it for part number SSA5MTKT.
