Today on our 2012 Subaru Impreza, we'll be test fitting the SportRack 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number A30901. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. At the bike rack, our ground clearance is 13-3/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 8 inches. We'll now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door.
And as you can see, we can gain full access to the cargo area with this bike rack. We're now almost ready to load our bike. We'll need only to make sure that our vertical bar clamps are fully extended. We'll also make sure that the wheel loop straps are undone and out of the way. We can then place the bike into the wheel loops.
We'll bring our vertical bar, remembering to reinstall the pin holding the bar in place where we can then bring our top bar clamp down over the top bar of our bike. We'll move back down to the wheel loops where we'll put the straps through the wheel and secure them on the other side. And there you have it, our bike is loaded and we're ready to head on down the road. And that completes our test fit of the SportRack 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Rack, part number A30901 on our 2012 Subaru Impreza.
