Today on our 2012 Dodge Journey, we're going to be test fitting the SportRack 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number A30901. To mount the bike carrier on our vehicle, we'll insert the shank into the receiver tube. We'll feed in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a 3/4-inch wrench. Next, we'll take some clearance measurements. From the furthest part of the bumper to the bike rack measures 9 inches. We've added an overall length of 26 inches to the rear of our vehicle and ground clearance from the bottom of the rack to the ground measures 15 inches.
Next, we'll check for rear vehicle access. First, we'll let down the arms with the wheel cradles then we'll let down the upright mast. We'll make sure that we can open our hatch and can access to the cargo area. We'll set the bike into the wheel cradles and we'll slide the hook down on top of our bike frame. Once we've secured the frame, we can use the hook and loop straps at each of the wheel cradles to secure the wheels of the bike.
With that, our bike is all loaded and we're ready to hit the road. That does it for our test fit of the SportRack EZ Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier, part number A30901, on our 2012 Dodge Journey.
Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Journey
Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Yakima Stickup two bike hitch-mounted folding bike rack for both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number Y02420. Now with the included adapter already installed on our shank well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Now that the bolt is tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and with the platform up from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is five and a quarter inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door.
Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Journey
Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing four bike carrier, part number TH9027. To begin our test fit, using the included two inch adapter, well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into place. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. At this point we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle here at the anti-rattle knob is four inches. Well now go ahead and pull the hitch switch here at the top of the mast to bring out the dual arms, where we can then undo the straps to expose our cradles.
Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Journey
Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Softride Dura parallelogram, part number SR26247. Were going to begin our test fit well simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point well go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and from the closest point on the bike rack to the back of the vehicle, here at the mast is five and a half inches. Well now go ahead and load our bike.

To begin our test fit, using the adapter for the two inch hitch, well slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. Well then move to the back of the shank where well tighten the knob, securing out bike rack to the vehicle. We can now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 16 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is six inches.

To begin our test fit well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install the hitch pin.
