Review of the SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack on a 2011 Ford Escape

Today on our 2011 Ford Escape well be test fitting the Sport Rack 2 wheel mount bike carrier part #: a30901. This bike rack will work with either inch and a quarter or 2 inch hitches, and with our vehicle equipped with the 2 inch hitch, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, well line up the hitch pinholes and insert our Inaudible bolt and tighten it down. With our bike rack secured to the vehicle, well now go ahead and fold the platform down to gain access to the cargo area. As you can see, we can gain full access to the rear cargo area. Well now give you a few measurements.

There is 19 and a half inches of ground clearance at the back of the bike rack and it is 11 inches from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle. Now all well need to do to load our bike is to open up the wheel loop straps. With the wheel loop straps opened, we can set our bike into the wheel loops, then bring the vertical bar up and secure it to the top bar of the bike. Remember to reinsert the pin at the bottom of the vertical bar to help hold the bike in place better. With our top bar clamp holding our bike up well simply strap the wheel loop straps through the wheels and that will finish the securing of our bike to the bike rack.

And now were ready to hit the road. And that completes our test fit of the Sport Rack 2 wheel mount bike rack on our 2011 Ford Escape.
