Today on our 2012 Chevy Suburban were going to test fit the Sport Rack Evader 3 bike carrier for inch and a quarter and 2 inch hitches part #: a30403xt. With our vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled with our 2 inch bushing, we go ahead and slide the bike shank directly into the receiver tube and line up the hitch pinhole. Then well install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt and clip. With our anti-rattle bolt tightened down we can see it really takes out any movement between the bike shank and the receiver tube. Now, lets go ahead and take a couple of measurements. From the nearest point of the upright of our bike rack to the bumper is 10 inches.
From the lowest point of the rear of the bike rack to the ground gives us 22 inches of ground clearance. Next, well go ahead and pull the pin on the base of the bike rack and tilt it away from the vehicle to gain rear cargo access. As you can see, with the bike rack tilted away from the vehicle we have plenty of cargo access. Now lets go ahead and put our carrying arms back up, well undo the hold down straps to prepare to load our bike. Now well go ahead and set our bike into position and resecure the hold down straps and just like that in a few simple steps weve gone ahead and secure our bike to the bike rack and the bike rack to the vehicle.

Well like up the hitch pin holes and ten install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and clip. Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Suburban
Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Suburban we will be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-Bike carrier part number TH9029. To begin our installation we install the bike rack shank in to the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and insert our anti-rattle bolt. We can then tighten down with a wrench and that will secure our bike rack to the vehicle and we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 22 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 4 inches. Well now go ahead pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the bike rack to tilt it down and we will go ahead and open our cargo door. And as you can see we can gain a full cargo access with this bike rack.
