Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, well be test fitting the Sport Rack Escape Three Bike Rack, part number A30403. Now to begin our test fit, weve already installed the bike rack into the hitch. We lined up the hitch pin and installed our anti-rattle bolt. So with our bolt tight, this is what your bike rack will look like secured to the vehicle. Now well give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 13 and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 8.
We can now go ahead and tilt the bike rack mast down and open our cargo door. And as you can see, we can gain full access to the cargo area with this bike rack. Well now go ahead and pull the pin at the top of the bike rack mast to bring the duel arms out. We can then undo the straps exposing the cradles where well place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing it to the bike rack.
