Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country we'll be test fitting the SoftRide Dura Parallelogram Tilting 4-Bike Bike Rack, product number SR26247. With our vehicle already equipped with a 2-inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled, we're ready to go ahead and test fit it. We'll begin by inserting the bike rack into the hitch, lining up the hitch pin and inserting our anti-rattle bolt. With the anti-rattle bolt tight we'll now attach the security lock. With our security lock in place this will secure the bike rack to the vehicle. We'll now give you a couple of measurements.
From the bottom of the bike rack to the floor is 10 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 1/4 inch. With our bike rack secured to the vehicle we're now ready to begin loading our bike. We'll start by loosening the straps on the bike rack. With the straps undone we're now ready to set our bike into place. With our bike in place we're now ready to strap down the anti-sway cradle as well as the two top cradles over the top bar.
And with that our bike is loaded on to the bike rack and we're ready to go. One special feature of the SoftRide is the ability to access the cargo area with the bike loaded. Today on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, well be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9029. Now to begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinhole and tighten with a wrench. Now well go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about ten inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about two inches. With the cradle arms folded down, weve added about 11 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.

To being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench. With the platform folded down, we can now have access to our cargo area. To load the bike, well unfold the mast by sliding the grey lever over to the right hand side, put the frame hooks to the top of the mast and well undo the cradle straps. Well set the bike into the wheel cradles, adjust the frame hook tightly against the frame and secure it with the straps. Today on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, well be test fitting the Swagman XTC2 2 Bike Carrier, part number S64670. Now to being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench. To access the cargo area, well pull the three pins at the base of the carrier to fold the platform and the mast down and this will allow us to have access to our cargo door. To load the bike, well l make sure the mast is in its upright position. Well put the frame hooks to the top of the mast and well undo the straps. Well set the bike into the wheel cradles, adjust the frame hook tightly against the frame and secure it with the straps.
