Today on our 2012 GMC Terrain, we will test fitting the Rockymouts liftop 6 skiing snowboard carrier part no. RKY1461. Now the Rockymounts Liftop 6 does come with the ability to either be secured to the crossbars through the channed if you have it or using the other feet can be used with a standard load bar. Because our vehicle is equiped with the Thule Aeroblade we will go ahead and use the channel. We need to remove the channel cover from both load bars and with the channels exposed we will simply slide the front carrier into the front load bar making sure that the square nuts slide into the channel. We can then open up the carrier and tighten down the Allen Bolt securing the carrier to the loadbar.
And with our front carrier secured to the crossbar we can go ahead and install the rear carrier repeating the same process as we did with the front. Make sure to line up the rear carrier with the front carrier to make it easier when loading our skiis and snowboards. With the board carrier secured we're ready to go ahead and load our skiies. We will open up both carriers, slide our snowboard and skiis in, clamp them down and that will secure our snowgear to the vehicle and we're ready to head for the slopes. And that will do for part no.

Today on our 2012 GMC Terrain we'll be test fitting part number Y03078, the Yakima FatCat 6 Roof Mounted Ski and Snowboard Carrier. Now our carrier is already preassembled, so we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll start by placing the front carrier on top of the front crossbar. We'll then bring the clamp underneath the crossbar and secure it with the Allen bolt on the other side. With the FatCat 6 you do need to rock the carrier from side to side while you're tightening it down. With all four Allen bolts tight, securing it to the roof rack will then open up the carrier and secure the two Allen bolts within it to prevent it from rocking back and forth.
Today on our 2012 GMC Terrain, we'll be test fitting the Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number TH92725. We'll begin by setting our front carrier on top of the front load bar. We'll bring the rubber coated steel straps around underneath the crossbar and secure them to the other side of the carrier. We can then tighten down the wing nut to secure the carrier to the vehicle. And with our front carrier secured to the vehicle, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process mounting the rear carrier, although we do want to make sure that the rear carrier is lined up with the front carrier to help us when we load our snow equipment. And with both carriers fitted, our ski carrier is secured and we're ready to load our skis.
