Review of the RockyMounts Euro PitchFork Roof Bike Rack on a 2012 Honda Fit

Today on our 2012 Honda Fit, were going to be test fitting the RockyMounts Euro PitchFork roof-mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1103. The Euro PitchFork is designed to be used with roof racks that have a slot or channel in the top of the load bars. To make use of it on our roof rack system, were going to need to remove the rubber stripping on the front load bar. We can either leave it out or cut it to fit and reinstall it later, but first well go ahead and pull the rubber stripping all the way out. Well slide the head of the bike rack and the block into the top channel of our front load bar. Well use the Allen key to tighten down the block, then well use the clamp and two wing nuts at the rear of the bike carrier to tighten down around the rear load bar.

Once weve done that, were ready to load up our bike. We need to make sure that the skewer is open and unlocked and that the wheel strap is open at the back of the bike carrier. Well pick up our bike, place the wheel in the wheel tray and move the front fork down into the skewer. Well secure the bike first to the skewer then use the wheel strap at the rear to secure the rear of the bike. With that, our bike is all loaded up and were ready to hit the road.

Thats it for our test fit of the RockyMounts Euro PitchFork, part number RKY1103 on our 2012 Honda Fit.
