Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Sonic we'll be test-fitting the Rhodegear Highway 2-Bike Carrier, part number RG8015220. Now to begin our test-fit we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and then install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 3/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 5 3/8 inches. We can now go ahead and pull the pin on the bottom of the bike rack mast to allow the mast to tilt down.
We'll then open our trunk and, as you can see, we can gain full access to the cargo area with this bike rack. We'll now undo the straps here on our dual arms, exposing our cradles. We can then place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around, securing our bike to the bike rack. And there you have it. Our bike is loaded and we're ready to head on down the road.

Today on our 2013 Chevy Sonic, well be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4 Bike carrier, part number Y02451. Now this vehicle is equipped with a class 1 hitch, so this carrier will be limited to two bikes. To being our test fit with the two inch adapter removed from the carrier, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up the pinholes, insert the pin with the red knob into the pinholes and turn the black knob at the back of the carrier to engage our anti-rattle device. Well then lift up the grey handle at the base of the carrier to tilt the platform down and well measure from the vehicles rear bumper to the end of the platform and we get a measurement of 30 inches. To load the bike, well slide over the grey handle at the base of the mast to raise it in its upright position.

Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about nine inches. From the vehicles rear bumper to the end of platform is 21 inches.
