Today on our 2010 Kia Sorento, well be test fitting the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Bike Carrier, part number RG8015220. Now our vehicle is already equipped with the 2-inch hitch, so well need to use the 2-inch spacer block provided with the bike rack. This bike rack is also capable of being used with the 1 inch hitch as well. With our bike pre-assembled, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. So well simply insert the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and insert our anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt in, we can now tighten it down using a wrench.
Now that our anti-rattle bolt is tight, we can insert our safety pin which will complete the fit of the bike rack and we can go ahead and give you some measurements. Now the bike rack does have 10 inches of ground clearance. It also is 6 inches from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle. Now well go ahead and attempt to gain cargo access. Well fold the bike rack down and open the cargo door.
As you can see, we can gain full access to the cargo area so were now ready to load our bike. We do need to make sure that we open up the hook and loop straps exposing the cradles. Once the cradles are exposed, we can then simply set our bike into the cradles and bring the hook and loop strap over the top bar, securing it to the bike rack. And with that, our bike is loaded and were ready to hit the road. And that completes our test fit of the Rhode Gear Highway 2 Bike Carrier, part number RG8015220 on our 2010 Kia Sorento..
