Today in this 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, we're going to install the Rhino Rack Roof System with Aero bars, product number DA11A and DK306. I've already got my bars set up and measured out, ready to go. Let's go ahead and install it on the vehicle and see what it looks like. First, we'll open up the front doors and install the front bar. Ok, before we can tighten down our car rack, we're going to need to measure out 10 and a quarter inches from the edge of the door frame to the center of our foot pack of our front crossbar, and then we'll go ahead and tighten them down. And tightening down your crossbar is going to be a two-step process.
First, on the driver side, I'm going to take up the slack in the clamp and start to tighten it down, then I'll move over to the passenger side, take up the slack, and tighten it down fully and then go back to the driver side and complete tightening it. This way, when you tighten it down, you won't pull the bar all the way too far to one side or the other. Now with the front crossbar tightened down, we'll go ahead and install the rear bar. The rear bar is going to set 27 and 9/16 inches from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. Alright.
Once we get the rear bar measured out, we'll go ahead and tighten it down just as we did our front bar. Now, with all four foot pads tighten down, we can go ahead and install our end caps. Ok, with our end caps installed, that completes the installation of our Rhino Rack Roof System. Let me go and give you a measurement of the overall height added to the vehicle. We've had an additional 4 and 3 quarters inches to your overall vehicle height, and that does for our test fit of our Rhino Rack Roof System on our 2012 Volkswagen Jetta..
