Buick Enclave Roof Rack

Installation of a Rhino Rack Roof Rack with Aero Crossbars on a 2008 Buick Enclave

Today on this 2008 Buick Enclave, we're going to be test fitting a Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack System. We'll be using the fit kit, part number DK224, and the crossbar kit, part number DA1375B. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together. Now, we're ready to fit them upon the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open both the front doors. Next, we can set our front crossbar assembly up on top of the roof of our vehicle.

To position the assembly properly, we need to measure 100 mm from the center of the door seam to the center of our front crossbar. We'll also want to make sure that we position our crossbar evenly from left to right. Next, we can tighten down the front crossbar assembly. To do this, we'll use the included wrench and we'll move back and forth from the driver's side to passenger's side so that we make sure we tighten down the system evenly. With the front bar tightened down, we can go ahead and move on to the rear and we'll repeat the same installation process in the rear.

Again, we'll position the crossbar and make sure it's even from left to right, but to get our spacing, we need to measure from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. We need to set our kit up at 700 mm for this measurement, which is known as the crossbar spread. With the rear crossbar assembly in position, we'll go ahead and tighten it down in the same way we tightened down the front. After the rear bar is tightened, the final step to installing a roof rack will be adding the locking covers over the clamp systems. The locking cover prevents access from the bolts that we used to tighten and attach the system to the roof of our vehicle.

With all four locking covers in place, our installation is complete. Finally, we'll give you a quick measurement to show how much height we've added to the roof of the vehicle. From the top of the side rails to the top of our new crossbars, weve added about 2-1/2 inches of height. That does it for the test fit of our Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack on our 2008 Buick Enclave.
