Installation of the Rain-X Latitude Wiper Blades on a 2014 Ford Explorer

On today's 2014 Ford Explorer we're going to install part #RX5079281. This is a Rain-X Latitude windshield wiper blade. All right. To set up our install, we're going to remove the existing wiper blade. In this case there's two small tabs underneath that we have to squeeze in then pull away from the arm. Once we have our wiper blade away we'll go ahead and gently set the arm onto the windshield.

Then we can go ahead and work for a new windshield wiper blade. Now the attachment point that comes with the blade won't work with this style of arm, so we need to change it out. Now the wiper blade does come with this extra part. So to remove the first attachment point, we just have to simply pull up on the lever and then slide it forward, and it comes right off. Then we take our new part, flip it over, and align the grooves on the inside, and then snap it back into place. Then it's ready to install on our windshield wiper arm.

Now if you notice on the back edge of the arm there's a couple of points. They'll line up with the back side of the attachment point on the wiper blade. We'll just go ahead and push it into position. Then we'll take the end cap that will be extended out originally, and then you just push in into place when you have the wiper blade in the arm. We're done for our driver's side. We'll repeat the same process for our passenger's side.

However that uses a different part number. And the passenger's side part number will be RX5079279. Now finish it for the Rain-X Latitude windshield wiper blades. Part #RX5079281 on our our 2014 Ford Explorer. .
