Today we will be working on a 2007 Dodge 1500, installing Pilot part number NB-210. Our first step is to remove the two cab mounting bolts. One in the front, and one in the very rear. Here in the back we will be installing the large bracket. On top of the bracket we will be a spacer. Through our bracket will be our flat washer and our lock washer. Going to go ahead and install that finger tight now. 0:35
This will be the same procedure as we remove the mounting bolt and install our bracket. On top of the bracket we will be a spacer. We have our bolt, flat washer, and lock washer. Now that I have them both installed, I want to run them down a little bit closer, so the bracket fits loose, but not too loose. Now, because we are working on a crew cab model, we are going to install the support braces. Which attaches to the bracket and rocker panel. We will pull this tape away, and you can see the access hole in the rocker panel. 1:21
To attach to the rocker panel, we are going to install this bolt bracket, plastic washer, flat washer, lock washer, and slide on our bracket support and put on a flat washer, lock washer, and nut. Now we will attach our support bracket to our bracket. We are going to use a bolt, flat washer, and run it through the support bracket and into the bracket. Slide on a flat washer, lock washer, and a nut. Leave everything finger tight this time. Now repeat the same process on the front bracket.
Now with our support brackets finger tight, we are going to go ahead and put our nerf bar into place. Using our 1/2 inch bolt, 1/2 inch lock washer, and 1/2 flat washer. We are going to thread through our bracket, into the nerf bar here. We are going to go ahead and do this step now. We are going to install these finger tight at this time. Now that we have all of our fasteners installed, we are going to go ahead and tighten down the nerf bar bolts that go through our bracket. Now that we have the nerf bar bolts tightened down, we will go ahead and torque them to specifications. Now that we have our nerf bar bolts tightened down, we will torque them to specification. Now that we have our nerf bar bolts tightened down and torqued to specification, we will tighten our support brackets and torque to specification on those also. 3:05
There is the one on the driver side, I will repeat the same process on the passenger side. Now with our support brackets tightened, go ahead and remove the rest of the cover off of the nerf bar. Then we will take a look at it and see how it looks with our doors. As you can see, our new nerf bars look fantastic, it is a nice, even set-up. We can go ahead and finish tightening down our bracket bolts to the cab mounts. With that, all of our fasteners are tightened and complete. That completes the installation of Pilot nerf bars, part number NB-210.
