All right today on this 2011 Dodge Caliber were going to do a test fit of part number N102 from Kuat. This is the NV Bicycle Rack. One note about this bicycle rack that it is designed for 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches both class I and class II. Well start off our test fit by installing the hitch pin and installing the lock on the other side. Well pull back on the bike rack a little bit and take up some tension and then well tighten down the anti-rattle knob. When you tighten down the knob make sure you end up with a horizontal position.
That way it gives you the most ground clearance as possible. With the bike rack installed, let's go ahead and get a couple of clearance measurements. From the bumper to the bike rack at its closest point will be 2-3/4-inches, ground clearance looks like 12 inches. Alright, now well go ahead and lower the bike rack and get one more measurement at the very end of the rack. And that measurement is going to be 27 inches.
Alright, now we can go ahead and check the access at the back of the car. That looks good. Now you can go ahead and load up the bike. First thing we do well make sure that the clamp is up and out of the way and extended and the strap for the back wheel is out of the way. When we load up the bike we'll put the front wheel into the wheel well, and then well bring the clamp up over the top of our front wheel and bring it down as close to the front brake as possible.
We'll also make sure that the back wheel is on track in the back. Next thing you do is to run the strap over the back wheel. Ok, and thats it. Thats all it takes to load up a bike. Now the bike rack can tilt one more time towards the ground.
Well go ahead and do that and check access to the back of the car one more time. And with that, that will finish it for our test fit of part number N102 the NV bike rack from Kuat on our 2011 Dodge Caliber.
