Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Aveo we'll be test fitting the Kuat Alpha Locking 3-Bike Aluminum Carrier, part number A103-WHITE-114. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. We'll then give the bike rack a slight tug and tighten down the anti-rattle knob at the back of the bike rack. Now our bike rack is secured to the vehicle and we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 5 inches. We'll now pull the pin at the bottom of the mast to tilt our mast down and open our trunk.
And as you can see, we can gain full cargo access with this bike rack. We'll now pull the pin at the top of the mast to bring out our dual arms where we can undo the straps exposing our cradles. We'll then place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing it to the bike rack. And there you have it. Our bike is loaded and we're ready to hit the road.
