Review of the Kuat Alpha Hitch Bike Rack on a 2010 Subaru Forester

Today, on our 2010 Subaru Forester, well be test fitting part number A103-WHITE-114. This is the Kuat Alpha 3 Bike Aluminum Bike Rack for 1-1/4-inch hitches. To begin our test fit, well slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install the hitch pin. We can then tighten down the knob at the back of the shank securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Now, well go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 13 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack mast to the back of the vehicle is 4-1/2 inches.

Well now go ahead and pull the pin at the bottom of the bike rack mast to allow the mast to tilt down. We can then open our cargo door. As you can see, we can gain full access to the cargo area, opening our door completely. Well next go ahead and pull the pin at the top of the mast to bring out the dual arms or we can undo the straps exposing our cradles. Well place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing our bike to the bike rack.

There you have it. Our bike is loaded and were ready to head on down the road. That complete our test fit of part number A103-WHITE-114, the Kuat Alpha Folding, Locking 3 Bike Aluminum Bike Rack for 1-1/4-inch hitches, on our 2010 Subaru Forester.
