Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Impala, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Alpha in white, part #A103-WHITE-114. First, we need to fit the shank of our bike rack into the hitch and make sure to line up the hitch pin hole on the hitch with the hole and the shank of the bike rack. Once we've done that, we'll tighten the hand knob on the front of the shank of the bike rack to secure the anti-rattle device within the shank and then finally we'll fit our pin in to secure it. With our bike rack in place, we'll go ahead and tilt it down to make sure we have plenty of access to the cargo area or the trunk of our vehicle. We have plenty of space and can still access the cargo area of our vehicle. Now we'll take a couple of clearance measurements to see how much space we have around the bike rack.
From the farthest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the bike rack measures about four inches. From the ground to the lowest part of the bike rack, we have about 12 inches of clearance. Now, we'll undo the belt clip at the top of the mast, flip the arms up so that we can prepare for loading a bike. We'll undo the rubber straps from the cradles and then fit our bike into the cradle closes to the vehicle. Once we've done that, we'll secure with the straps and we'll be ready to hit the road.
And that does it for our test fit of the Kuat Alpha in white for one and a quarter inch hitches, part #A103-WHITE-114 on our 2010 Chevrolet Impala.
