Review of the Kuat Alpha Hitch Bike Rack on a 2009 Ford Focus

Today on our 2009 Ford Focus, were going to be test fitting the Kuat Alpha 3 Bike Aluminum Hitch Mounted Carrier, part number A103-WHITE-114. To mount our carrier on our hitch, well insert the shank into the receiver and line up the hitch pinhole. Well the knob on the end of the bike carrier and tighten down the anti-rattle device. Once weve done that, well set our pin through and secure it with a lock. We have about 5-1/4 inches from the farthest part of our bumper to the closest part of the bike rack. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground.

Next, well check for rear vehicle access. Well tilt the bike rack and make sure we can still open up the trunk and gain access to the cargo area of our Focus. That looks good and so now well fold the bike rack back up and well pull the arms out so we can load up our bike. Well set the bike into cradles and secure it with the rubber straps. With that done, our bike is all loaded up and were ready to hit the road.

That does it for our test fit of the Kuat Alpha 3 Bike Aluminum Hitch Mounted Carrier, part number A103-WHITE-114.
