Today on our 2012 Ford F150 were going to install the EGR Super Guard Bug Shield part number 303371.First well need to go ahead and pop the hood on the truck. Next were going to raise the hood enough that we can temporarily fit our bug shield in place. Our new shield is going to have a total of 5 attachment points. Weve got one on each end that have screws attached and 3 attachment points across the center where well be using adhesive and clips to secure it. Now lets go ahead and test fit it in position. Well insert the plastic attachment up into the hood and then secure the shield with the screw and washer.
Now before we make any attachment, were going to go ahead and bring the hood back down and using a non-permanent marking tool, were going to go ahead and mark the attachment points. Now with all our attachment points marked out, were going to go ahead and remove the shield and well go ahead and install the plastic attachment points. That completes our attachment points underneath the hood on the driver side; well go ahead and repeat the same process on the passenger side.Next well go ahead and take the alcohol prep pad thats supplied with our install kit and clean the surface at our attachment points. Im also going to use it to clean the attachment points on the shield. Now well go ahead and wait for our pieces to dry.
Then well take the abrasive resistant tape to the top of the grill and to the top of the hood. Well do this for all three attachment points. Now we can go ahead and take our attachment clips and put them in position. It may be necessary to gently pry to get a little movement between the hood and the grill. With all of our attachment points in place, we can go ahead and place our bug shield in place locking it across of the top hood first into our clips. Now with the shield snapped into the three clips on top, well go ahead and raise the hood back up and install the screw and washer fasteners. Now with all our fasteners tightened down, thatll complete the install of our EGR Super Guard Bug Shield part 303371 on our 2012 Ford F150.
