Today on our 2012 Chevy Suburban, were going to test fit the Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches part number C18145. With our vehicle already equipped with the 2-inch hitch and our cargo carrier already preassembled with the 2-inch bushing for 2-inch hitches on our cargo carrier shank, were ready to go ahead and insert the cargo carrier shank into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt and safety clip. As you can see, once weve tightened down the anti-rattle bolt, it really takes out any sway or movement between the cargo carrier and the hitch. Now, lets go ahead and take a couple of measurements. From the nearest point of our cargo carrier to the nearest point on our bumper is 3-1/4 inches.
From the rear of the cargo carrier to the ground gives 22 inches of ground clearance. Now, lets go ahead and check for rear cargo access. As you can see, even with our cargo carrier installed, we can still access the rear cargo door when necessary. A couple of the great features about this cargo carrier is its overall dimensions are 20 inches wide by 48 inches long and 6 inches deep. It has an overall clearing capacity of 500 pounds and the overall is 29 pounds, making it easy to install.
