Today, on our 2011 Kia Soul, we will be test fitting part number C18145. This is the Curt 20x48 cargo carrier for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches. To begin our test fit, we wills simply remove the included adapter from our cargo carrier shank. We can then slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install the anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. We will now go ahead and give you a few measurements.
From the closest point of the cargo carrier platform to the back of the vehicle, is 2-1/2 inches. The cargo carrier will add an additional 22 inches of overall length to the vehicle. Now, the exhaust on the Kia Soul exits on the passenger side at the rear bumper. It is approximately 10 inches from the cargo carrier platform so there may be some heat transfer to the cargo carrier while you are driving down the road. And that will do it for the Curt 20x48 cargo carrier part number C18145 on our 2011 Kia Soul.
