But before we can test fit our ball mount, first we want to measure the hitch height of our truck. To measure the hitch height, well measure from the ground to the inside top edge of our receiver tube. Our hitch height measures 18-1/2 inches. First well show you how to mount the ball mount to the truck. Well insert the ball mount with the receiver tube of our hitch lined with the hitch pin holes and insert our pin and clip.
The Six Way provides three different ball sizes, 1-7/8, 2-inch, and 2-5/16 inch as well as the ability to use a lunette ring spade or clovis trailer and connect it to this ball mount. Theres no rise or drop involved with this ball mount so the trailer height will measure the same as our hitch height, 18-1/2 inches. We'll get a measurement of 19-1/2". Now to begin our test fit, in the drop position, we'll slide the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, insert our pin through our pin holes, and secure it with the clip on the other side. We'll then measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, and we'll get a measurement of 13-1/2".
