To measure the hitch hike, we'll measure from the ground to the inside top edge of our receiver tube. Our hitch hike measures 18-1/2 inches. To test our ball mount, first we're going to mount it in the drop position. We'll insert the shank of the ball-mount into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll add the hitch pin holes and secure the ball mount with a pin and clip.
We'll measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform. We measured it eight and a half inches, and that would be the ideal trailer coupler height for this ball mount. Next, we'll flip it over and remount it in the rise position. In the rise position, we measured 27-1/4 inches.
