Today in this 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, we're going to install part number 38955. We're going to start off by taking our wire harness and we're going to tape off the end of it a little ways back, to leave room for our wire inaudible to the ground. And then we tape up the rest of the wire in short sections, if you're going to run this towards the back. And we'll fit our wiring from the front through the grill, and we'll tie if off to a bracket right here, then we'll continue on running our wires through the back. Alright, one quick note about the connector is that it's basically a trailer and connector with a four pinned flap. So you may have to double check your tow bar and see what wiring it needs--it maybe the opposite.
Alright now we'll take a second to take our white wire to the ring terminal, and ground it to the frame. What we're going to do is run a wire onto the inside, now on the driver side of the vehicle; it has a nice big ground that we can run our wires through. We'll make a slit our inaudible and run our wires through. Now we're going to just put up our wire harness. The yellow wire and brown wire will stay on the driver's side, and the green and brown will go to the passenger's side.
Next we're going to install the diodes for the wiring. Now we're going to need to find our turn signal, and brake signal. Now in this car its' going to be the yellow wire. So in this case inaudible is going to be color for color on the wire harness. Alright, we're going to cut our wire, you know each end we're going to put in one of the terminals.
When we install a diode, one tab is going to be labeled out. Now it will always go out always to the tail light. And the other half of the wire is the input. It doesn't matter which tab it goes into. And then we'll shorten up the wire, as in the wire harness, and we'll go ahead and add our terminal to that.
Now we'll cut our brown wire for the running lights, and do the same thing one again. Alright that finishes our connection on the driver's side, now we'll go over to the passenger's side and repeat the same process. At this point, we could go ahead and re-install our interior panel. And with that, that'll finish it for our install of part number 38955, on a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier.
