Today working on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma, were going to install the Firestone Air Helper Spring Kit, part number F2407. Youre going to have to remove the rear wheels and the spare tire to make it easier to install. Our first step, we actually have to remove the manufacturers jaunt stop. What were going to do is cut it even with top of the bolt. Im cutting off the jaunt stop. You can use a hacksaw or a sawzaw which is what were going to use, makes it a little easier, a little quicker than using hacksaw.
Were going to go and take our bottom bracket from our kit. Line it up to make sure its going to fit. Its going to fit nicely so well go and take that off, and were going to do some pre-assembly before we install it. Ok, to start our pre-assembly, we need to mount our airbag to the bottom bracket. Well be using a three ace bolt with thread tight already on it and go through the bottom of our bracket, into the bottom of our bed.
Then well go and tighten that down as much as possible, but while doing that, were going to keep our air inlet and our mounting tab straight in line with the bracket. This will line up with our top bracket later on. Next what were going to do is go and mount our top bracket. If we are on the passenger side next to the exhaust, we would install our heat shield first and then our top bracket. But were on the driver side and exhaust runs on the passenger side so we wont need that on this side.
You see our alignment mark at the top of the airbag will also line up with the hole in our top bracket. Well take our five ace jim not, go ahead and thread it on and tighten it down. When our jim nuts secured, we can now go ahead and insert the nipple for our air line, and youll see one side has a thread tight on it thats in, were going to screw into the top of the airbag, and tighten the nipple down securely and end up facing the route you want to take for your new air line. In this case, Im going to point back towards the frame so that I can route my air line through the frame channel. Now at the top bracket mount it, our air line nipple secured, we can go ahead and set our airbag into the vehicle.
Now were going to go ahead and install the top bracket brace. This will fit on the backside of the bracket and go up against the frame. Well take four, three ace by 1-inch bolts and secure them with locknuts. With our four bolts and nuts securing the top bracket to the top brace, we now need to install a 3 -inch bolt through the frame holding the top brace to the frame. So well take our 3 -inch bolt, 3 -inch flat washer, go from outside to inside. Then on the inside well take our 3 -inch flat washer, our locknut, and nut, and thread it on. Were just installing all of our fasteners finger tie at this time. With our 3 -inch bolt installed, were now going to install our upper bracket, outer brace. This will sit between our upper bracket and the manufacturers frame support through the jaunt stop. Ok, with that installed, we can go ahead and tighten all of our upper bracket and brace fasteners. With the two in the front left tightened down, were going to do the two in the back. With our four bolts tightened down here, well go ahead and do the two on the outside support brace. Next were going to need to secure our lower bracket to the lead pack. To do that, were going to take a bracket strap, drop our bolts down, and then use our flange locknuts to secure it. We got to set from both front and rear of the lower bracket. Now load on the bracket strap thats also slotted. Were going to face the slot to the inside of the vehicle. There is the front bracket strap, now go ahead and repeat the same process on the back. With all four of our fasteners installed, we can go ahead and tie them down. The key thing when tying them down is to make sure you do it evenly. Theres the back two fasteners, well go ahead and repeat the same process on the front two. Now before we can install airline, we need to go ahead and drill holes in the bumper to mount our air line fittings. Take couple quick measurement so that I can mount my air line connectors on each side the same. Im going to take a smaller bit and drill a pilot hole then well come back with a larger bit to make our final hole so we can install our connector. Before you draw your hole, you always want to make sure theres nothing on the backside of the bumper that you can run your drill bit into. With our hole drilled out, we can go ahead and install our connector. To install our connector, take the inside of the connector at a flat washer, bring it through our hole. Now well add a flat washer and nut to secure it. Go ahead and tie in those down and were ready to run our line. Now were ready to go ahead and route our air line. Remember when routing your air line, you want to stay away from many pinch points such as the suspension or excessive heat such as exhaust. And well just push it into the threaded nipple that we installed in the top of our airbag earlier. Now well continue routing our wire to our connector that we drilled into the bumper. Once I get my length, I can go ahead and take my tubing cutter and cut the fit. The same way as we installed in the top of the airbag, put your line into the connector, pull out and its secured. Now well take some of the zip size provided in our install kit and secure our line. And that completes the install of the driver side to our airbag, now well go ahead and repeat the same process on the passengers side. With our line installed, we can go ahead and put some air to our airbag and check for leaks. With both sides installed and your lines checked for leaks, that completes the install of our Firestone Ride Right Helper Air Spring Kit, part number F2407 on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma.
Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2011 Toyota Tacoma

Today on this 2011 Toyota Tacoma we're going to install part number F2407 from Firestone. This is our Ride Rite Air helper spring. To start off our install we're going to go ahead and lower our spare tire to get that out of our way. We're also going to raise the truck up by the axle and remove the two rear wheels. Now our next step is to go ahead and remove the joust that's above the spring. Now it doesn't pop up so we have to cut it.
