Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 1997 Chevy Express Full Size Van
The hitch basically attaches at six different points on the frame. If all the holes are existing we just put the bolts in and install the hitch. On the attachment points on the frame well be using this hole, this one, and this one right here. Repeat for the other side.
Now since we hung the hitch up on the two bolts we finish up the outside bolts and torque them down. Now that we have the hitch sitting loosely on the frame, attached by bolts, well go ahead and center the hitch on the frame. Try to make the edges even the sides of the frame, then go ahead and tighten down for now and come back with the torque wrench. All six bolts get torqued to 75 foot pounds. That is it for the install of this hitch.
