The Saturn Outlook has a lot of room but if you need more storage space for a trip or want to tow your boat you will love how easy they made it to install a receiver hitch. The custom trailer hitches can be installed without any drilling and bolt up in minutes. The exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered but our video will show you exactly what to do. Once the hitch has been installed and the exhaust placed back into position you will be ready for a cargo carrier, bike rack or to tow a trailer
Step one is to remove the rear access panel here, after that we want to lower the exhaust. With the double exhaust there are four hangers we want to move. There are two inboard ones and two outboard ones on the side of the frame as well. We have the exhaust lowered now and the next step is to lift the hitch up into position, we want to put the arms up and over the exhaust, as you can see there are two weld nuts in the frame and those will be on each side. Then there are two weld nuts on the bumper flange as well and those are going to be our attaching points. We went ahead and mounted the bumper bolts first, I am using those to keep the hitch into position to mount the frame ones first. These fasteners are going to have to come back out because we need to put a spacer in between the hitch and the frame itself. Now we will mount the bolts to the frame, after that we will remove the ones out of the bumper and install the spacers into position. We have all of those loosely installed now, all we have to do is tighten them down. Once we have all the bolts snugged down, we want to go ahead and torque them to their torque rating which is 92 foot pounds. Now that we have all the bolts torqued down, just make sure you put the exhaust back up into position and that will complete the installation
