Today we are going to install part number 75151 from Draw Tite. We will install this on a 2006 Dodge Ram full size pickup. First step involves in some models you might have to lower the spare tire. If you have enough clearance between the bumper so you should not have to lower it. The next step is to go ahead and lower the plastic plate here. There are 4 tabs in the bottom you squeeze so you can flip this up out of the way. To remove the plastic piece these 2 tabs have to be squeezed on the bottom and pushed upwards. Next we install our hardware into the bumper itself. We just a carriage bolt in and the edges will ride in these little holes here a little bit. It kind of sticks up you can see it rock a little bit. We you tighten it down it will pull flush into it.
You can go ahead and install our hitch hanging from these 2 bolts. Next all we have to do is fish wire the bolts into the bumper and pull them out of the back pointing that way. We will go ahead and leave this loose so we can go ahead and have some wiggle room for the bolts to come through. We ran our fish wire into the frame here and what we are going to do is pull it up and through the side of the frame. Make sure you slide your plate on the wire first and then go ahead and thread on your bolt. Pull everything right on through and there you have it. At this point make sure you do not lose the bolt in the frame. Go ahead and repeat for the other side. Once you have all your hardware installed you can go ahead and move it a little bit. Try and get it as center as possible then go ahead and snug down the bolts. After that we can give the bolts their final torque. As you tighten these down you can see the bolt sink into the bumper. Now we can pop our plastic plate back on. That covers it for part number 75151 from Draw Tite.
