Installation of a Class IV Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch on a 2005 Chevy Silverado
On most models of this pickup youre probably going to have the factory hitch in place. Weve already taken that off and are starting with the bare frame. The hitch is going to attach at this weld nut here at the end of the frame with these two attachment holes towards the front of the vehicle. Once we are down to the bare frame, the next step is to install the hitch. We use the bolts on the end of the frame to hold the hitch up and then well put the other bolts into place then well come back to the bolts at the end of the frame and put their washers on. For now were going to use the two bolts to hold everything in place for us. Its a fairly heavy hitch so you probably want an extra set of hands to help out. At this point we can start installing our bolts
Basically its going to be a simple affair, this plates going to be at the top of the frame and the bolts going to go through and that goes through the hitch. These are lock nuts, they wont thread in all the way well have to torque them down pretty soon. Now we can repeat for the other side. Back to the rear fasteners here, well go ahead and put our lock washers into place then well repeat for the other side. Everything is now secure we just need to tighten everything up. Now that we have all the bolts tightened up with the air gun well give them there final torque. With that our hitch is installed, its pretty simple just another heavy piece of equipment to install on your vehicle. That does it for part # 41934 on a Chevy Silverado pickup.
