Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2004 Cadillac CTS

Today we are installing part number 60830 which is a Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch. We are installing it on a 2004 Cadillac CTS. This also applies for Draw Tites part number 24767. First up you have to open up the back trunk to find where you way to get to the floor. This has to come out and this carpet has to come out also. Then this plastic panel should come out next. Then what we do is drag the rubber hangers off the exhaust so we can lower it and have some more room to work. We got our exhaust lowered and pulled out of the way. We had to pull it sideways so that we had to tie down and pull them to the sides. Now we hold our hitch up into place then mark the hitch with white paint so can drill our holes. This would be a very good time for a second pair of hands to help you hold up the hitch while the other marks the holes.

As you can see by the white marks we have our holes. So what we will do is drill it out with the 1/4 inch first. Then we will back them up with the 1/2 holes. Now we apply some silicone sealant to the holes to keep exhaust from coming back in. Now we install the hitch once again. We also put some weights on the hitch to hold it into place. You want to give it a little room while you attempt to center it and snug up the bolts. Now center it and snug the bolts and make sure it is where we want it then we will give it the final torque. Our hitch is installed and we will go ahead and reattach our main exhaust. At this point we can reassemble the trunk area. That completes our install of part number 60830 the Hidden Hitch Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2004 Cadillac CTS.
