This is what the hitch looks like when it is on the vehicle. Now we will go ahead and give you a couple of measurements that will help you out in ing accessories for it, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 17-1/2 inches on this particular vehicle. We are going to show you where the hitch mounts up onto the vehicle. We are looking at the driver side part of the vehicle. And you can see there are two threaded holes. Also, we are going to be using the threaded hole that is behind this bolt as well. We are going to remove this bolt and that will be replaced with the hitch hardware. And it is almost going to be identical on the passenger side, except this bracket will not be there. Now the next thing you want to do is go ahead and clean out the threads on the existing bolt holes. We are just going to use a lubricant and a wire brush to do the job. Now, even though this is a brand new vehicle, it still can get dust and grime inside and over the years you still want to clean these out. Alright, and once you can thread in the bolts you should be good to go. Alright, let us go ahead and remove this bolt now. 1:17
At this point we can go ahead and start installing the hitch on the vehicle. We are going to use the supplied hardware which is the metric bolts and the conical tooth washers. Just to point out one thing, how the hitch sits in the frame, you will notice that this support bracket does go directly to the frame and the hitch does sit on top of it. You may have a little bit of play in the hitch once it is loosely installed. So go ahead and center it up as best you can and then go ahead and snug down the bolts. Now you can go ahead and torque down the bolts as specified in the instructions. Ok, in a few easy steps our hitch is already finished. And there you have it for part number 75517 from Draw-Tite.
