Today we are going to install part number 87430 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup. Now this will also apply to Draw-Tite part number 75521. To begin our install, we actually test fitted the hitch to make sure we had plenty of clearance for the spare tire. Now we will go ahead and show you where the hitch bolts up.
First, it bolts up where this existing factory bolt is right here. We use this hole, and one farther back. And this is identical on both sides. Also the hitch will install on the bumper in these two pre-existing weld nuts in the bumper itself. So we are going to start off by taking our bolts down at the end of the frame. All right, let us go ahead and take the hitch and put it in position and install our hardware on those bolts that we took out earlier.
All right, we are going to install the rest of the hardware into the frame itself. Just your block and your bolt into the frame, install our hardware. All right, we are going to leave our hardware loose because we will have to have the hitch loose itself so we can move it around to get the rest of the bolts in at the bumper, too. OK, let us go ahead and install our hardware for the bumper mount. This is the part here where it would probably be a good idea to move the hitch around to help you get the bolts lined up. All right, once you have got everything started, go ahead and snug down the bolts. OK, at this point we can give the bolts their final torque, as specified in the instructions. And that finishes up our install of part number 87430 on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
