Today on this 2007 Toyota RAV4 we will be installing Hidden Hitch part number 70785 and this installation will also apply for the Draw-Tite part number 75432. Underneath the vehicle we are first going to take a look at the driver side of the vehicle and show you where the hitch is going to attach. You can see over here on the frame rail that we have got an existing tow hook that needs to be removed before we put the hitch up into place. There are two bolts holding that into position that need to come down. With the tow hook removed you can see that we have got three existing weld nuts at the bottom of the frame and we are going to be using two of those to attach our hitch to the frame rail. 00:33
We will be using the rear most one and the forward most one and to attach the hitch to the frame we will be using the new 12 millimeter bolts along with the conical tooth washer that is provided with our hitch. The attachment will be the same on the passenger side so if need be you want to go ahead and clean your weld nuts out to ensure that the road grime and rust is out of there and we will put our hitch up into place. With all of the bolts in place we can go ahead and torque them down. We want to verify with the directions the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. With the hitch installed on the vehicle some final measurements that we can take from the ground to the top of the receiver opening we have got 13-1/ 4 inches and from the center of the pin hole out past the rear mounted spare tire is going to be seven inches. This will conclude the installation of Hidden Hitch part number 70785 on a 2007 Toyota RAV4.
