Today we will be working on a 2007 Nissan Frontier. We will be installing Draw-Tite part number 75282, which is also comparable to Hidden Hitch part number 87539. Here are a couple of measurements that will assist you with ing accessories for your new hitch such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to your outermost point of your bumper is 3-1/2 inches. And from the top of your receiver tube to the ground is 16 inches. Our first step for the install will be to locate our fastening points. There are a total of six of them. You can see the three here on the driver side. And there will be three identical on the passenger side. Before I go and install my hitch, first I want to hit each one of my fastening points with some lubricant or penetrating oil. Then I am going to take a nylon tube brush, part number 814092, and clean out the threads of those weld nuts to make sure our new hardware will go in nice and smoothly. Let us go ahead and try one of our new fasteners to make sure our threads are cleaned out thoroughly. As you can see, the bolt threads in nicely. I am going to go ahead and try that for the other two holes on this side. And then I am going to repeat the same process on the passenger side. 1:21
We will be using the fasteners supplied in the hardware kit. You will see a lock washer will go on first and then a flat washer and we will put that up against the hitch. Now we are ready to install our hitch. It is a good time to get an extra set of hands to help you hold it in place while you mount your fasteners. Now that we have all of our fasteners in place we can go ahead and run them down. That completes the driver side. I am going to repeat the same process on the passenger side. Alright, now that we have all of our fasteners run down, we are going to go ahead and torque to specifications. Alright, now that we have all of our fasteners torqued to specifications, that completes the installation of Draw-Tite part number 75282.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Nissan Frontier - Hidden Hitch
Today on our 2008 Nissan Frontier, we'll be installing Hidden Hitch, part number 87539. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 3-1/2 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 15-1/2 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a drawbar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Nissan Frontier - Draw-Tite
Today in our 2012 Nissan Frontier, we'll be installing the draw tight hitch part number 75282. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. From the center of the hitch, pin hole to the out most edge of the bumper is 3-1/2 inches. From the top of the receiver, tube to the ground is 17-1/2 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Nissan Frontier
Today on this 2010 Nissan Frontier we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13241. Okay, we are taking a look at the driver side frame rail here nearest the bumper. And we want to go ahead and point out the mounting holes for the trailer hitch. You can see we have three existing weld nuts here at the bottom of the frame. And we are going to be using those for our attaching points for our trailer hitch. And that is going to be the same on the passenger side as well. Into those weld nuts, we are going to be using the 12 millimeter bolts along with the conical tooth washers which are provided with the installation kit. And with that, we can pretty much go ahead and put the hitch up into position. However, if you notice that you have some road grime or corrosion built up in your weld nuts, you want to go ahead and thoroughly clean those out first. This is likely the case if you have a vehicle that has seen at least one winter. 0:43
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Nissan Frontier
Today we are going to be installing part number 87539 from Hidden Hitch on a 2007 Nissan Frontier pickup. OK we are underneath the vehicle now. And, looking at the drivers side frame rail, you can see the three attaching points at the bottom of the frame. These are weld nuts, but we are just going to be taking the bolts that were provided with the installation kit and throwing them up into there. A lot of times you will have some corrosion built up in these nuts. What I have already done is sprayed some spray lubricant like WD-40 up into there and cleaned them out really well so that the bolts can thread in there more easily. And once we have got the bolts cleaned out we can go ahead and put the hitch up into place.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Nissan Frontier
Today we are going to be installing part number 13831 on a 2003 Nissan Frontier. All right, we are under the vehicle here, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting holes. You can see right here on the drivers side frame rail there are three holes, one large and two smaller holes. Set that over the top, where it will align through the holes. Go ahead and put our bolts down through, like that. And then we want to go ahead and do the same thing for the passenger side. as well. And now we have got the plate in place along with the bolts, we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. We just want to attach it with the nuts that are provided.
