Today we are working on a 2006 Pontiac Vibe. We will be installing a Draw-Tite hitch part number 24812. This will also be comparable to Hidden Hitch part number 60898. Now here are a couple of measurements that will assist you with ing accessories for your new hitch, such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most point of the bumper is approximately 2 inches. And from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 11 inches. Here on the passenger side this will be our forward most mounting point, the middle and the rear most mounting point. These will be identical on the driver side. We will be using the bolts as fasteners to install our hitch. They come in the installation kit. We will also be using the conical tooth washer. The teeth of the washer will face the bottom of the hitch. Before beginning out installation, we are going to need to clean out the weld nuts. I will be using some spray lubricant and a nylon tube brush. This is the 1/2 inch nylon tube brush, part number 814092. Clean out the threads of the weld nuts because over time dirt, debris and rust will build up and make it difficult to thread in our new hardware. I will go ahead and repeat that same process for each one of our mounting points. 1:19
With all of our fastening points cleaned out, we can go ahead and install our hitch. We will set the driver side up on top of the tailpipe muffler as we put our fasteners in for the passenger side. We will just install them finger tight at this time. Ok, with all of my fasteners in place, I can go ahead and run them down. With all of our fasteners tightened down, we can go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in our instructions. With all of our fasteners torqued to specification, that completes the installation of Draw-Tite hitch, part number 24812.

Today on this 2008 Pontiac Vibe we are going to install part number 60958 from Hidden Hitch. This is what the hitch looks like when it is installed on the vehicle. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 12 inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper will be 4 inches. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Pontiac Vibe
Today, on this 2009 Pontiac Vibe, we will be installing Curt hitch part number 12228. Okay, we are underneath the vehicle and we are looking at the drivers side frame rail. As you can see here at the end of the frame , we have got two existing weld nuts. Those are going to provide our two attaching points on the drivers side for our trailer hitch. We will be attaching the hitch to the weld nuts using the 12mm bolts and conical tooth washer. And on the passenger side, we will be using the same two weld nuts and same bolt washer combination.
