Custom Fit Trailer Hitch
This Product Fits The Following Vehicles
2004 - 2010 Toyota Sienna
Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13256 on a 2004 Toyota Sienna Van. We are underneath the vehicle now and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. We are looking at the passengers side frame rail, and you can see first thing that the exhaust is right here, in the way. So the first thing you want to do is to go ahead and remove the exhaust from the rubber hanger here. If you look up at the frame rail, you can see that there are three existing weld nuts in the frame. We are going to use those as the three attaching points for the trailer hitch. And that is going to be the same on both sides of the vehicle. As you can see, some of these exposed weld nuts might have a considerable amount of corrosion in them. If that is the case, you want to go ahead and spray them down with some sort of lubricant like a WD-40, and maybe get a wire brush in there to clean them out really well before you get started. With all the weld nuts cleaned out, we are going to go ahead and put the hitch up into position.
You want to make sure that on the passengers side you put the hitch in up and over the exhaust, and you can kind of rest it there while you put the drivers side up. And with all the bolts in place, we can go ahead and tighten them down, and then go ahead and torque them to their specified torque rating. You need to check with your directions to verify that rating. OK, and with the bolts torqued down, you just want to make sure you put your exhaust back up on the rubber hanger, and then our installation will be complete. And this will conclude the installation of hitch part number 13256 on a 2004 Toyota Sienna Van.
