Today we are going to install part number 87479 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2004 Honda Odyssey. Now, on these vans, sometimes the threaded nuts inside the frame rust out and then get clogged up with road grime. So what your want to do is take a while and actually clean out the threads first, before you even attempt to install the hitch.
We will show you where the hitch mounts into the frame. It uses three bolts on each side. And they are located here, and here and up toward the front of the vehicle, right here. And as you can see, the exhaust is in the way, too. You can either a disconnect the exhaust or pull it off to the side and just keep it out of your way for now. And essentially, it is the same thing on the other side, too: three holes, one, two and three holes. And once you have the holes cleaned out, at this point we just life the hitch into position and start installing bolts. All right, once you get all your bolts started, go ahead and snug them down tight. Once you have all the bolts snugged down, it is time to give the bolts their final torque, as specified in the instructions. And with that, that finishes our install of part number 87479 from Hidden Hitch on a 2004 Honda Odyssey.
