Today we are going to install part number 75374 from Draw-Tite on our Ford Econoline van, the E250. And this also applies to part number 70755 from Hidden Hitch. To show you where the hitch installs out on the frame, it uses these two holes toward the end of the frame, here. And then this hole right here on this part of the frame. It is identical on both sides. And for clarity, we did take down the spare tire. It is not a necessity, but it tends to make things a little easier to work around in.
First, we will install our hardware. We will install the plates. And they install like this on the inside of the frame, and we will the bolt inside. And do that for every hole that is going to get a piece of hardware. At this point, we can go ahead and start hanging the hitch from the frame. It is a good idea to have an extra set of hands, because you do have to install a washer between the hitch and the frame at one point. This bolt right here requires a washer to go between the frame and the hitch itself. So we will simply just pull the bolt back up and slip in the washer. It will be identical on both sides. Then we can put our lock washer and nut back underneath of it. Now, once you have your bolts in there and all the hardware, take a moment to loosen everything up so you can move the hitch back and forth to get it centered in the frame as best you can. At this point, we will go ahead and snug up the bolts. All right, now we will give the bolts their final torque. And the final torque specifications are listed in your instructions. And that covers our install of part number 75374 from Draw-Tite.
