Today we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13322 on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The first thing we want to do is to go ahead and lower our spare tire and get it out of the way so we have more room to work with. And then next I am going to go ahead and point out the attaching points for the trailer hitch. You can see here at the bottom of the bumper we have got two existing weld nuts. These are going to provide the two rearmost fasteners. At the end of the frame, you can see we have got an existing bolt. We are going to remove that and put a new fastener in its place to provide the middle attaching point. And then again, there is an existing hole here more forward on the frame, and that will provide our third attaching point. And to clean out the weld nuts, I am going to go ahead and spray them down with a spray lubricant, like a WD-40. And I am just going to take a wire brush and run that through there, and that will help to clean them out - get the corrosion and rust out of there. And once I have cleaned them out, I am going to go ahead and put the bolts in and run them in and out a few times just to further clean them.
And with the bolts all up into place, we can go ahead and torque them down. You want to verify the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt on the directions. And with all the bolts torqued down, you just want to make sure you put your spare tire back up, and your installation will be complete. This will conclude the installation of hitch part number 13322 on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.
