Today we are going to install part number 87410 from Hidden Hitch, and we are going to install this on a 2003 Pontiac Montana. We will show you where the hitch mounts up on the vehicle. It is actually going to bolt up in this location right here where these existing bolts are. The bolts will get replaced by new hardware, and it will be the frame, the hitch, and then the exhaust hanger we will bolt on top of that with the new hardware. And on the other side here, this is pretty open. It is going to bolt up into these threaded holes right here. Now, some models will have a compressor bracket right here. In this case we do not have it, so we do not have to worry about modifying anything right there. Also, in addition to these two attaching points, there is a hole that gets drilled out in the frame here, too. This hole is going to be on the other side - on the passengers side, as well. And there is an existing hole that you install hardware on, on the passengers side, also.
All right, at this point we can actually set the hitch up on the frame already, using the existing bolt holes. Now you can take a moment to straighten out the hitch on the frame. Then you can go ahead and snug those bolts down. All right, the hitch will act as a template to locate our holes. We will go ahead and start off using a 1/4-inch bit to drill the pilot hole. OK, we can start installing our hardware in this hole right here. We will run our bolt leader from the inside to the outside access hole here, and pull our hardware back through. The rearward attachment requires this handle to be installed inside here and down. This handle nut is designed to be bent any direction you need. Basically, we are just going to make a shape just like that, thread it into the hole, and do the same thing on the drivers side. On our forward attachment here, we can just go ahead and add a couple of blocks to it, a lock washer and a nut. With all our hardware installed now, we can go ahead and actually snug up the bolts and then torque the bolts down. At this point, we can go ahead and torque down our bolts as specified in the instructions. That finishes our install of part number 87410 from Hidden Hitch.
