Today on this 2002 Ford F-150 we are going to install part number 87183 from Hidden Hitch. This also applies to part number 75065 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we are going to do is show you where the hitch mounts up on to the frame. It is going to use this bolt hole, this bolt hole, and this bolt hole. There is a cut out on the hitch for this rivet right here so do not confuse that with one of the holes to install it with. This is going to be identical on both sides of the vehicle and right now we are looking at the passenger side. First we will install our hardware. We are going to get this block and carriage bolt and strap them to the frame. This is going to be identical on all six holes. 00:39
We can start lifting the hitch into position. It is a little bit on the awkward side so it is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help. When we install the hardware we are going to install a conical tooth washer and the nut and we will have you repeat the same process on all six bolts. Once we have the hitch up there centered on the frame as best you can and then we will snug down the bolts. Once we have the bolts snugged down we can torque them down as specified in the instructions. From the top of the hitch opening down to the ground is 16-1/ 2 inches and on this particular vehicle the hitch actually extends past the bumper about 1/ 4 inch. With a few easy steps we are already have our hitch installed. There you have it for part number 87183 from Hidden Hitch.
