Truck Bed Liner Trimming to Fit Fifth Wheel Rails

Today were going to cover a frequently asked question on how to cut out a bed liner for a fifth wheel installation. Its pretty easy, well measure for our cross rails just like normal and then well go ahead and mark out our bed liner. Measuring from the edge of the bed of the truck, not the bed liner, but the edge of the bed and measure out. Well go do one side, well go to the other side and make a mark as well. Now those will be the marks thatll align our first rail way. Well make sure that our rail is even from left to right.

Well just use the ribs in the bed liner to align it with and then well just draw a circle all the way around the rails. Then next well go ahead and use the legs of the fifth wheel hitch to place our second rail and now this will put our rail basically in the right stop and well just draw an outline around it as well and then the next step is go ahead and remove the parts for the fifth wheel and remove the bed liner and we can go ahead and cut out what we need. Before we make our cut outs well go ahead and support the bed liner up in the air a little bit with a couple pieces of timber. Well go ahead and drill some pilot holes for a saw were going to use to make the final cut out. So lets take our saw and well trace on the outside of our line and just cut it out.

Alright, and from this point we can go ahead with the fifth wheel install as normal.
